San Diego Auto Repair

I literally created my Yelp account to review these guys. They were recommended to me, and I saw the Yelp reviews, and figured it'd at least be worth a shot. My car has started having issues lately (conveniently right after I finished paying it off), and virtually all of my mechanic experiences in the past had led me to believe that every car fix must either take a long time and/or cost a lot of money. This wasn't true at all at Dragonfly Auto. My check engine light had been on for a few days, and it was having issues starting up and getting moving from stops. Today I thought it had a complete meltdown, and felt lucky to not need it towed. They ran a quick inspection (and got something like 8 error codes back). Any other mechanic would have kept it and tried fixing all these things while trying to figure it out. Glen and his team took a look at it and fixed it within 20 minutes. Whether they realize it or not, they have some seriously strong logical and analytical abilities. After all was said and done, it turned out a measly hose problem that caused all of those issues. Not only is it running awesome now, but they didn't even charge me. On top of that, they're super friendly too, even though I anticipated a little sketchiness (not just because many mechanics can be sketchy, but because I stereotyped it a bit because of the part of town I drove through to get there). Next time I have any car issue at all, I'm for sure bringing it to these guys. I am not exaggerating when I say this was the best mechanic experience of my life.

Glen, Janice and Robert over at Dragonfly Auto are great and I highly recommend using them if you ever need a good, trustworthy auto mechanic. I had an issue with my 2002 Infiniti QX4 and it needed a quick, affordable fix. Basically my "check engine light was on" and my car needed to be serviced to pass a smog check test so I could renew my CA annual registration. I called Glen and he told me to drop it off, so I dropped it off the next morning and by noon that same day it was fixed and was running like new. They were very detailed and knowledgeable about the problem and fixed it at a fair price. These guys saved me a lot of money over going to an Infiniti dealer and I honestly trust these guys more. If I ever have an issue with my vehicle I will always call Dragonfly Auto. Thank you Glen, Janice, Robert, and Dragonfly Auto for your expertise and for being "stand up business owners". You guys rock!

Went here based on the reviews, as my brakes were squeaking like crazy. I dealt with Robert, who was very nice and explained things well. Downgrading one star because they quoted me at $260 for rear rotors/pads plus front pads, then called me a half hour later and said I needed front rotors as well. With an oil change this came to $423 total...a far cry from $260 I was initially promised. I'm not saying that they were dishonest, but the practice of calling your customers after they leave with additional charges is an all too familiar one in the auto repair industry -- at least in my experience. Will update if necessary based on car's performance.

Glen and Janice were really helpful. Called ahead of time to schedule and they were able to see my car the next morning. Glen was very nice was able to help fix the issue right away. Seems like an honest guy and easy to talk to. I'm very happy with the great service and will come back next time.

Glen is the man. Everyone that works here is legit. No rip off! Straight with you from the beginning. I was stranded in Encinitas called a 4 tow truck companies to get me, everyone was "too busy" or I'd have to wait 4 hours for anyone to help me. I called Glen and explained my situation, he had the towing company he works with get me right away, I left my car with Glen, it needed serious repair. My car was fixed quickly and at the best price! I will never go anywhere else for any auto needs. Glen had me come back a few weeks later to make sure everything was still on point. He took such great care of me and my car. I recommend him to my family and friends always.

So I'm always looking for a mechanic and it's always hard finding one that you can trust. I basically found these guys maybe one year back and hope to stick with them because they seem like guys you can trust and they are here to help plus all the yelp ratings pretty much helped. I brought my car in again recently because the check engine light came in, one of the guys, I believe Roberto, took a look at it and basically fixed it on the spot without charging a dime although of course we gave him a tip for taking the time to work with us. Next time I have car problems, I know where to go. Thanks guys.

I just moved to downtown and needed an oil change. I went on yelp, as I normally do and once again wasn't let down. Great service!! Thanks yelp!. I was in and out in 20 min, Glen was very professional and did not try to push any additional services or products on me, like other places I've been before. Highly recommended!

Dragonfly is awesome! I have taken my car here several years and I am never disappointed. My most recent issue with my car is the tint on my back window started to bubble up. Glen and his crew took care of it no problem. Replacing tint on the back window is not easy either. It is an all day process and they have to strategically remove all the tint around the defroster so that it doesn't damage the defroster. This is very hard to do, and most people would not be able to execute this as well as Glen's team did. I have also had a couple windows go out on me (pretty common for BMW's) Usually it happens one by one... Fortunately, Glen came to the rescue. Not only did he give me the most amazing prices, but my car was in and out of there within a couple of hours! This shop does it all. Body work, oil changes, maintenance, and the list goes on. The staff is very friendly, very professional, and I am always greeted with a warm smile. Glen and his team are the only people I trust with my car. He is beyond trustworthy and is always on top of his stuff. Not to mention, the prices are always unbeatable. I have recommended and refereed a bunch of family and friends here, and they also have all become loyal customers of Glens. On top of everything, my car is so sparkling clean when i come to pick it up! Keep up the great work!

if you want to know what customer service is, look no further than Dragonfly Auto. I've been living in San Diego for 12 years, and this is by far the best shop I've found for total value. Glen and his crew are super knowledgeable, professional, and go way above and beyond to fix up your car. Dragonfly Auto was recommended by a co-worker of mine, and my wife and I are so glad we followed her suggestion as we've been more than satisfied with them. They treat you like friends at this place and you really can't complain about that. I'll be a repeat customer forever now...thank you Glen!

5 Stars! What more can I say about Glen and the guys at Dragonfly Auto. They are professional and really know what they are doing. I have had several of my personal cars and my limos worked on there.
